Prof. Buckland has published over 180 peer-reviewed articles and delivered more than 120 podium presentations at national and international academic meetings. He has received several awards from specialty societies including the Spine Society of Australia, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Scoliosis Research Society, International Society for Advancement of Spine Surgery, and the Hip Society. In 2025, he was recognized as Australia's Leading Researcher in Orthopedic Medicine and Surgery by Research Magazine.

Professional Affiliations

Prof. Buckland is an active member of the internationally renowned Harms Study Group, AO Foundation Knowledge Forum, and Paediatric Spine Study Group. He is also the founder and chairman of the not‑for‑profit organization “Spine and Scoliosis Research Associates Australia” (SSRAA), dedicated to advancing research and education in spinal and scoliosis surgery.
