Referrals to Prof. Aaron Buckland
Thank you for considering a referral to Prof. Buckland’s practice. Our goal is to work collaboratively with general practitioners and specialist colleagues to ensure patients receive timely, comprehensive spinal care.
Referral Methods:
- Secure Direct Referral Portal: Use our protected online portal to securely send referrals and supporting documents.
- Email or Fax: If you do not have access to the portal, you can email or fax the referral documents, including imaging reports and notes.
- By Phone: For urgent cases or immediate assistance, please call our reception team.
What Information to Include:
- Patient Details: Full name, date of birth, and contact information; include Medicare or other insurance details if available.
- Clinical History & Reason for Referral: A brief summary of the patient’s spinal complaint, comorbidities, and current medications.
- Previous Investigations & Imaging: Copies of X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, and any previous specialist or allied health reports.
- Non-Operative Treatments: Details of physiotherapy, injections, medications, or other conservative treatments and their outcomes.
- Urgency & Additional Concerns: State whether the referral is standard, semi-urgent, or urgent, and list any additional clinical questions.
Urgent Referrals:
For urgent cases (e.g., suspected severe nerve compression or rapidly progressing deficits), please contact our practice by phone to expedite triage.
Second Opinions:
We welcome referrals for second opinions. A thorough review of existing imaging and reports is conducted to provide you with an evidence-based perspective.
Return Correspondence:
After consultation, we send a summary of our clinical findings, recommendations, and any additional instructions back to you for continuity of care.
